this weekend has been different from the other weekends so far
here goes:

actually sleeping at home on a Friday night, before 2am

waking up before 12pm on a Saturday

went shopping

went for a Monster Ramen challenge. I didn't take part, because I knew my own limits. I can't eat as much as I did before already!

jeremy, jerome and andy actually completed the challenge! :worship:

last minute decision to go for KTV

went to KTV at Lee Kai House

went to the wrong floor; was at the night club instead LOL

the personnel told me the "family" type of KTV is up at the 7th floor HAHA :dummy:

pretty reasonable pricing, and was open till 6am

sang from 11pm to 6am. hell yeah, 7 hours! :la:

had breakfast at Roti Prata House which was located at Upper Thomson Road

awesome pratas. plain pratas own the egg ones!

went to queue up for 金品香 bak kwa

queued since 7.10am or so

played Dai Dee (Big 2) until the shop opens (at 10am)

although we were the 3rd group in queue, we had to wait for a whole 2 hours before we finished our purchase :ohnoes:

bought 18kg of bak kwa HO HO HO :laspin:

I only took 1kg back home though

went for Dim Sum at my's mum's dim sum shop

awesome dim sum :lol:

got on the way home at about 1245-1300hrs

haven't caught any sleep for a total of 26.5hrs

straight knock-out in car X_X

reached jeremy's house in about an hour (and I've passed out for that long)

bus-ed home

one of the easy-but-great weekend
after all, company is all that matters

to me, 21st birthday is a day to thank the people in your life
so yup, this post is gonna be about it
in no particular order,
the people I want to thank for teaching me various stuffs are:

Ou Jianle
a secondary school friend
he taught me that we need not take all comments seriously
people can say what they want, true or false
you have the choice to filter it out
I only saw this lesson after secondary school, though
so, thank you Mr Ou!

Carolene Chong Hui Lan
another secondary school friend, who sat beside me in secondary 1
I truly admire this girl a lot
she showed me how to be strong, how to be independent
she inspires me a lot
always so full of energy
really, she's like a role model to me
I want to (and I will) be as strong and as independent as she is
till today, she still inspires me a lot
so, thank you Ms Chong!

Cherie Liw Xueqi
best secondary school friend, same class for 4 years
the friend that got me through secondary school life
without her, many, many of things would have been different for me
helped and pushed me to actually STUDY
yes, something I normally won't do at all
she created the most of who I am today
taught me the most things
taught me what patience is
and we all know, patience is what helps us learn the most
her maturity changed how I think, how I look at things
taught me that I need to step in other people's shoes
and see things from their point of view
taught me to think about the consequences before any action is taken
taught me that I need to give up certain things sometimes
even though it may be painful
and to her, I want to apologise for all the mistakes I may have made
and thank you, for letting me grow up

Clarence Sim Jun Yi
a poly classmate, and a real good friend
the first guy who made friends with me and Wayne
I can never forget that moment,
that moment when he just came by to me and Wayne,
stretched out his hand,
and said "Hi, I'm Clarence, nice to meet you guys"
and that's how our friendship begun
Clarence is a really, really hardworking person
he is one of my role models for being hardworking
although he say he's lazy at times,
you can really see him putting lots of effort in things he do
like for 3D Maya, he really went to learn it online
even ZBrush, a program we didn't really need to learn in poly
he went on to improve himself so much
very inspiring!
taught me to be less of a procrastinator that I am xD

Rini Ong Zhi Qian
poly classmate, and the belle of the class LOL
actually, she's the only rose in the field of grass
if you don't get it, she's the only female in the class
very talented in art,
and also, another role model for being hardworking
always finding ways to improve her skills
even though she is already very good, she doesn't stop trying to improve
and yes, that is truly, truly inspiring
I should be like that
always finding ways to improve, no matter how good you already are
she even moved out of her comfort zone just to improve herself
I need to do that too
leave my comfort zone, learn new skills,
adapt to this environment, this world we live in
she taught me to never stop improving yourself
(of course, we need a break from time to time, can't forget that!)

Broy Lim Jun You
poly classmate, fatty (LOL), top student
mind you, he's not fat, hahahaha
another amazing, and talented fellow!
I see him as a really good manager of his time
he is able to juggle work, class, and extra classes
extra classes meaning Japanese class and a Diploma Plus
and he can still do well for all!
a powerful, strong, and well-disciplined leader
he led me (and our teammates) to a grade 'A' for our FYP
very, very awesome guy
I wish I had his time-management skills
taught me how important time-management is
and showed me that we can achieve a lot, if we planned our time well!
so, thank you Mr Lim!

Wallace Woo Bing Jun
another poly classmate
to me, Wallace is a very wise man
despite his saddening past, he is able to push on in life
he has accepted many things that would break down an average person
and through that, you would expect him to have learnt a lot
taught me a lot of wisdom
very humourous person!
he's one guy who would always remind me to stand up every time I fall
he taught me how to have a more positive outlook in life

Eve Lau Yu Hui
a working colleague
one of the people who's more mature than her age
a very true, sincere, and honest girl
she made me clear my doubt of being the person I am
she made me believe that being honest and real is right
I can see a lot of myself in her
except, obviously, the gender LOL
taught me to believe in myself a lot more than I had

my dear lovely, little brother
love him to the end of the world
simply the best brother I can ever have
one who's able to not only tolerate my crap and rubbish
but even join me in my nonsense LOL
we would have many random conversations that people would not understand at all
kinda telepathic too, it's actually scary LOL
understands me and loves me a lot
I still make a lot of careless mistakes
but knowing me, he's always like "hey, that's why you're cj"
he calls me "cj", by the way
taught me to understand and accept the flaws of others

Dad
well, obviously, my father LOL
most awesome Dad I could ever ask for
first ever role model for being hardworking
can you imagine working 3 jobs and only sleeping 4hrs a day?
yeah, that's what he did, just to support this family
very understanding and giving father
gives me a lot of freedom, and trusts me a lot
of course, for that, I do well to discipline myself
taught me how important and valuable family is

Mum
yes, obviously, my mother HAHAHA
also, most awesome Mum I could ever ask for
very talented at home
sewing, cooking, fixing (some) electrical appliances, raising sons!
instills a lot of moral values in me, along with my Dad
full of patience

loves me a lot (just like my Dad)!
role model for me to learn many, many things, so I can depend on myself

had a pretty last min supper with clique
went all the way to the North East side for dessert @ Dessert Bowl
not sure if I mentioned before,
but the Durian Mousse is a must-try for durian lovers!
just a mini-chilling session =)

8 October, 2011, Saturday
went to sing KTV with rini, jayme, chanel, chi shan and daryl
original plan was to sing at Teo Heng NTU Alumni
but apparently... rini didn't know she had to book the place lol!
in the end we only had 1 hour of singing there

feeling unsatisfied, we cabbed down to TopOne at Bugis
sang from around 3.45pm till 8pm
costed $22 per pax, for those who are curious of the price
I just love KTV sessions =P

met up with clique afterwards for our Scholar Buffet
the buffet that makes us scholars LOL :lol:
okay, so I'm never a buffet-eater
so as usual, not worth it for me X_X
food was so-so to me =|

caught Real Steel after that at Cineleisure
and gosh, Real Steel was super awesome!!
it's a bloody marvelous movie! definitely worth it!
makes me wanna have my own bot, with shadow mode too LOL xD

I suck at looking at angles, even though I can calculate them well

had Satay Bee Hoon and Satays @ Clementi after that, for dinner
the satays were really good!
we only got the chicken ones, 'cos well, I love chicken satays :heart:

well, all I can say is, I'm not a very history-appreciative guy

been a long time since I got a good night rest on Friday
caught the movie (again), Four Lions
I'll say, it's probably one of the lamest movies, IMO
totally not worth paying
but surprisingly, we got a lot of jokes out of that movie LOL
the stuffs the movie showed us was just too ridiculous and funny xD

had some supper at SPIZE down at River Valley
they serve some delicious food, and in relatively large portions too!
can definitely fill your stomachs there
price is pretty reasonable, given that the quantity was generous
worth trying! :lol:

caught ANOTHER movie at midnight, Crazy Stupid Love
thought it was a pretty good movie! =)

sometimes I wonder if the good really prevails
all I see are rewards going to the bad, easily
while the good strive to hard, to get that 1/10 of the reward

picture this
a guy (A) with piercings all over his face
and tattoos all over his body
but you see him holding a lil kid's hand
hugging him (with love)
I mean, how much points does he get there?
a freaking 11 out of 10 :diao:
and when you see a normal good guy (B) doing the same
(without the piercings and tattoos)
he gets a freaking 8.5 points only

I mean, so B's good, and doing good stuffs is supposed to be the norm?

I just caught the movie,
Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, Part 2 yesterday
as Ron would say, BLOODY BRILLIANT
like many have said, it's kinda sad that this is the end
as much as we want to see more of Harry Potter and friends,
this is no doubt, goodbye

well, celebrated Xingyi's 21st on the 25th June
official birthday was on 29th June
getting the presents for her was fun
yes, presents
bought 21 different items for her birthday
and I still think, this is the most epic present:

I think her face fits the portrait perfectly!
her expression, when she saw the present, was damn priceless
everyone was just laughing at it! xD

watched Your Highness the night before the birthday
it was a horrible movie LOL
it's quite hilarious, but the whole plot is just crap
which kinda makes the movie even more funny HAHA
I'd say the movie's probably only worth $2 to watch :lol:

and then, after the birthday, watched X-Men First Class
I love how the story connects to the following series
really great show, I'd say! =)
should catch it if you haven't! (if it's still airing, that is)

and just last week, I caught Transformers: Dark of the Moon
I don't really understand why people say it isn't good
I thought it was fairly decent
the animation of the robots transforming still amazes me
even though I've seen it since the first movie
the pity was I caught the movie in 3D
I don't know if it's my eyes, or there just isn't much 3D effects
pretty much, the cinematic for Paramount had the most 3D effect LOL
other than that, it looks 98% 2D to me...
(what's the difference between Digital and normal movie ah?)

for this week, I've been on a course in army
hate to be going for the course alone -.-
but good thing, course trainees are all fairly disciplined soldiers =)
learned some really interesting stuffs about weapons
2 more days till I graduate from the course
and hopefully, I can get a promotion real soon =P

so quite a number of things happened in the past few weeks
andy is in army now
jeremy is back in Singapore
more campmates have ORD-ed =(
and I have moved house

next month, I'm going for a course for NS
this course will probably earn my promotion
and July will also be the mark of me being a 1-year-soldier
11 months has already passed
13 more months to endure
well, NS is pretty easy life for me
it's the allowance that's kinda limited
so, I can't wait to start working outside
for one, more money
and two, less useless fucks, since they will get fired if they are

this year, I have started to treat myself better
I know I've changed somewhere
I've been less strict with spending money (pros and cons~)
I've been harsher with fucked up people
I've been truer to myself
I've been less caring about how others think about me
I still do, and it still affects me sometimes
I think it has been a good change
because I feel I've been living behind a mask before
and now I can finally take off the mask and be myself
feels more liberated, more confident, and definitely happier
necessary friends would stay, unnecessary ones would leave
attracts the right people, and repels the wrong ones

as always, a lot of thinking leads to the above
I've been thinking a lot
about how to live happily in this half-screwed world
it can be simple; all in the mind
and it depends on the people around you as well
they can determine your perception,
because they are your influences

if you are feeling very unhappy with your life
analyze why
chances are, it's because there are too many wrong people in your life
and it's high time you drive them away from you

I have realised
that a couple of friends and I are experiencing a similar issue -
we feel that one of our siblings is really hateful
normally, this issue exists in a few families with more than 2 kids
and this individual is usually the 2nd child
well, obviously for my case, it's not the 2nd child
otherwise, that means the black sheep's me

let me let out my thoughts
I think as the eldest child,
one has the responsibility to look after his/her younger siblings
if not, at the very least, look after yourself
if you really can't do something that simple
I don't see why you can get any respect from your younger siblings
especially if they can do those better than you
way better

it's inevitable to spend some pennies on education for a better future
it's hard to not be spending during this period too
sure, one should play, have fun, especially when they're young
full of vigor and energy
(of course, when you're older, fun should still exist!)
but there's a limit too; a reasonable one
if you're spending your allowance, that's your freedom
but if you're overspending that
you better be earning some money
a couple of times of overspending is forgivable
but to do that again and again, is just fucked up

to not know how to save, yet spend a lot
who the fuck do you think you are, the king?
I do not believe that parents SHOULD give their children money
it should be their choice, their simple act of love
definitely not to be taken for granted

so, fine, parents have their rights too
we cannot force them to act the way we want them to
right

do what you want, dad & mum
dote on him, spoil him, protect him, spoon-feed him
honestly, I am perfectly okay with it
give him all the attention, whatever he wants and needs
I'm still fine with it
I have already acquired the necessary - knowledge, ability
I may not have a lot of it, but I have enough
so, go ahead and provide for him

you can do WHATEVER you want
but if you ever ask me for help to "help" him

planned on going for some chicken wing buffet around Dhoby Ghaut
to our disappointment, the restaurant has already closed down
oh well
random decision to buy 4D quickpick with clique
since we don't really buy 4D one LOL

so had to change our dinner venue
jerome & my had been saying they want to try the Yankee Burger challenge!
at New York New York
so they decided to take the challenge that day!
well, at least jerome decided to
my wasn't ready for the challenge

headed down to citylink mall's New York new York for our dinner

and there's our jerome's yankee burger challenge!
which he ended up... well, failing
the fries were the killer
800g of those devils!

we ordered another Yankee Burger (chicken), but didn't take the challenge
see the amount of fries we have left?
I swear, we dreaded fries for a few days LOL

went on with our plan to Cineleisure for our movies!
and fun in the arcade, too
Cineleisure is becoming our favourite haunt
I've also started to play at the arcade with them
used to always be their audience

watched 2 movies that night
Pirates of the Carribean @ 10+pm, and Dylan Dog @ 2.15am
Pirates were awesome!
loved Johnny Depp to the max
he's always so weird and funny in it! xD
Dylan Dog, on the other hand, was a disaster
not a good movie at all
definitely not recommending it!

took half day off, to grace the commissioning of Inspector Clarence Sim!
cabbed down, 'cos I left home late
unnecessary cabbing, please slap me D:
watched the parade for about 45mins

look at those ~~ants~~ police officers!

had our *free* buffet dinner before we left
sometimes, I wish I was like him too
able to train through the hard times
and rise up as an honorable position, Inspector!
oh well, I'm just not that "lucky", huh?

28th May, 2011
unusual outing with clique
headed down to Cineleisure first, for some arcade fun
before heading towards Singapore Flying Club for our buffalo wings!

we heard about this buffalo wings, with levels of spicy-ness
ranging from level 1-10, and a legendary level 30 one
cabbed down there; it was so damn out-of-the-way!
and surprisingly, there were still many people at the restaurant
Sunset Grill & Pub's the name
I only tried level 3! with jerome & andy
my and wl tried level 10 ones
and seriously, I'm so glad I didn't try level 10 LOL
wl & my ended up with painful stomachs, no thanks to the spice
here's a "scary" photo of the level 10 devils!

the buffalo wings didn't taste good, though
not because of the spice; it's just not nice
guess I won't be coming back here ever again LOL
the location is just so inaccessible without a car!

walked out of the "God-Forsaken" place in about 20mins
took bus 103 all the way from Seletar Camp to NEX
finally, back to civilisation!
visited the arcade (don't we just loooove arcades!)
and the ReflecBeat is only $1 per game!
Cineleisure's one is $1.90 (VIP) per game!
just spammed 4 games of it xD

nearing midnight, we headed for AMK
wanted to go prawn-fishing, or as we cut short, prawning

spent a good 3 hours there
and our haul? 12 prawns!
it's pretty pathetic, considering we spent $90 for that LOL
each prawn is oh-so-precious!
but freshly fished prawns are always damn delicious =D

cabbed home, yet again
turned in, yet again, in the early morning 6am+

pretty good for me, 'cos there's Red Bull
and I like Red Bull, lol :lol:

Friday the 13th
the only Friday-the-13th this year, I think
in any case, I went to KTV at night with sy, moni & her bf
the KTV was at NTU Alumni, Buona Vista
it's a pretty good place for singing, just a little inaccessible
I would definitely go again!
sang many, many songs
felt that my voice that day was in good condition =P
what more, singing in front of them is so free!
don't really have to worry about failing LOL xD
oh, and the place charges by room, not by pax
that's how KTV should charge in the first place!!

headed for supper with cousins afterwards
at the relatively newly opened MacDonalds just nearby Jurong Point
it's a new Drive-Thru MacDonalds
kinda like the West Coast Mac kind of atmosphere
it was so crowded!
went home after 2.30am!
didn't realised we stayed until that late =|

and they are damn funny
they want to meet up at town, just to play in the arcade =.=
honestly, the idea of that is really funny to me
I mean, go to town just to play arcade?!
I still did, anyway
just kept on playing the ReflecBeat
with just 3 songs per credit, it's really addictive
I just keep on feeling, "what? that's it?! one more time!"
hahahahaha :la:

we went to tried to catch some toys again
after the epic $40++ plush we caught 2 weeks ago
here we go again LOL
but we were in luck that day
or rather, I was in luck that day
I used 1 coin, 1 chance, AND I GOT IT

it was seriously damn crazy
we were all going mad there HAHAHA
and I'm so happy to actually be able to catch the toy

but well, it's 3am in the morning
there wasn't really many choices
so yup, just chilled

alright, I finally got myself to type this entry

2 April
broy's birthday.
celebrated at E-Hub at Downtown East
he booked a room specially for this
and the room can house up to 90 people!

had to rush back to the west for MY's birthday
that night was pretty epic
but I shall not mention it here xD

9 April
went to jeremy's house to watch Batsu Game overnight...

10 April
impromptu chilling with clique at Holland V
Erdinger Beer is good! =)

15 April
got my first checkered shirt! and it dropped price!
from the initial $69 to $49
and I had a special voucher that costs $20, but is worth $40 in G2000
so I only ended up paying $29 for it :lol:

went to Somerset afterwards
had a mini celebration of my cousin's birthday
at this Ramen restaurant called Santouka
the ramen was kinda too salty for me =/
went to Dhoby Ghaut Play Nation after that
played Balderdash, and it was awesomely fun & funny :dummy:

Cheryl's birthday celebration
nothing much, chilled at jeremy's house for a while after that
before heading home at 11+

22 April
spent my Good Friday designing logo & namecard for my Dad
took me a whole day; way longer than I expected
I swear I was on the verge of going insane at the end of the day
I thought I was taking too long to do it...

23 April
went for Terry Deng Weiguang's birthday celebration at Downtown East
the buffet food was good! =P
played Murderer there, had some fun =D
some of the DGDD peeps went clubbing after that
would have joined them too
but I actually have another BBQ to attend
and luckily for me, it was nearby, at Aloha Loyang
which is about 10-15mins walk away from where I was =D

it was Ben's ORD BBQ
listened to many, many stories of my camp
back when I wasn't posted in yet
played some drinking games (drinks' beer)
went for a dip at about 4am
because we were feeling all sticky from the bbq

went for Mac breakfast at Elias mall after that
took a ride from BK to Woodlands, before train-ing back home
I kept knocking-out in the train
bet I looked really retarded orz =(

movies with clique
Thor and Fast & Furious 5
both were really great movies!
they both have an ending scene after the credits
and I guess there should be a Thor 2, and a Fast & Furious 6...

mini birthday celebration for cousin at my house

played badminton in the early afternoon
went to Changi Airport afterwards to send jeremy off
he's flying to Australia for his pilot training

before I know it, another weekend has arrived, and past
it's gonna be April soon already!

Saturday
went for Tag of War in the morning with campmates
had breakfast first with parents and bro
after which they sent me to meet up with my campmates

Tag of War was awesome!
it was very exciting
definitely something I would wanna play over and over again
with friends of course =D
it's something like Counter-Strike, for those confused
except it uses infrared detection instead of real bullets
and we definitely do not want real bullets now, do we? xD

I had to use my left hand to hold and left eye to aim
my right eye seriously fails me
I tried very much to hold with my right hand and aim with my right eye
like most other people do
but oh well, that's pretty much the reason why I'm a storeman LOL :lol:
pretty tiring, but it's a good workout =)
I wish I could show photos, but the photos are not uploaded yet! >:(

went for lunch + dessert after that
had Texas Chicken for lunch (@NEX)
and this 一碗甜品 down somewhere along Serangoon Gardens
oh yes, the Tag of War was held at Serangoon Park
and damn, the desserts were great!
for durian lovers, if you ever patronize that shop,
please try the Durian Mousse
it's very, very delicious!
I had strawberry ice that day, though
quantity is pretty plentiful for me =)

Sunday
went for massage @ Jurong SAFRA with clique
I have to say - massage is not my kind of thing
I was like aching throughout the 60-min session LOL :lol:
maybe that's suppose to happen?
did feel more refreshed after that
well, it's a good experience, nevertheless =)

so yup, that's another weekend gone

wanted to blog about my expensive week on Sunday
but fatigue has got the better of me
but not today!

ALERT!
long post ahead!

so my expensive week started last Tuesday, 15th March 2011
which is also a rather significant day,
as it's the ORD date for 2 of my camp mates
and to celebrate, we had dinner together at Bukit Timah after work

went to this street of food stalls
settled at Al-Azhar or something
it's an Indian Muslim restaurant
I had this Na-an + Tendori Chicken set, with 3 other campmates
sadly, I have to say I didn't enjoy the food
not saying it isn't good
but it's definitely not to my liking

Thursday, 17th March
stayed-in in camp
had my dinner at Pastamania
and I had Chocolate Banana Pizza for dessert!
loving it :heart:
shared a Sesame Coriander Chicken Pizza with my campmates
and boy, I must say I've made the right choice!
the pizza is very flavourful!
I am definitely getting that again the next time I dine at PM :lol:

Friday, 18th March
my long awaited day to the North-East area of the country
had been planning that with 2 of my campmates since last year!
on the way, though, one of them kinda killed my watch -.-
here's the result:

there goes my watch =(

anyway, before our visit to NEX,
an epic incident happened to me:
I dropped my wallet, without knowing
must have dropped it while alighting at Outram Park
and while I was in the train towards Farrer Park,
I picked up a call, from the SMRT staff from Tanjong Pagar MRT
it was only then, I realised I have lost my wallet!
oh, the careless me
thank goodness a kind soul retrieved the wallet
and passed it to the staff at Tanjong Pagar
and thank goodness I left my name card in my wallet
which is how the staff managed to contact me LOL :lol:
so, we know a little moral of the story here, eh? xD
and this kind soul's name is Dawn. thank you Dawn!!

okay, so we visited NEX and had our lunch at Mad Jack
caught a movie, Rango
it's a good movie! very inspiring =)
after that, we had our dinner at Chomp Chomp
I requested to dine there!
I just had to eat there, since it's pretty famous
and being a country bumpkin from Jurong,
Serangoon isn't a place I would visit often
wouldn't say the food's awesome, though
maybe I set my expectations too high?
the food's still good, of course
and the sugar cane's good! $2.50 for a pretty huge cup =)

lunch with the clique
boonjie suggested going for buffet
so had a buffet lunch @ Kuishinbo @ JP
a little disappointed, too, with the food
very small variety

the soft ice-cream was good, though
love the vanilla + green tea ice cream xD
seems like quite a bit of disappointment on food this week!!

went to fz's house to chill after that
played a bit of board games
we're picking up a new game, BANG!

after the long day :lol:

I didn't manage to go one full round on the wakeboard (standing one)
I tried like 45938512 times
before I manage to even stabilize when setting off
well, okay, a little exaggerating, maybe 15-25 over times only
was pretty satisfied with myself in the end,
even though I couldn't go a full round
half the time, I used the wrong "front leg" =|

knee-boarding is way easier to pick up
the only irritating part was the cables -.-
at two turns, the cable loosens, then jerks to pull you along
that killed my muscles X_X

suffered a few flesh wounds and cuts
and my whole upper body ached badly the next few days
it was a really crazy ache!
I actually felt pain while trying to get up my backpack on my back
but it sure was a good ache LOL

with no doubt, I enjoyed my weekend, Sunday being the best
comes with a price, though
I'm pretty broke right now
spent a lot more than I usually would
but well, I took a holiday! naturally would spend more =P
still, I have to watch my expenditure...

miss the days where going out on weekdays was actually possible

had a short weekend, but definitely lived it to the fullest
late night movie on Friday
was supposed to watch a lil bit earlier, so we don't have to catch a NR/cab
but ended up, andy couldn't make it in time
watched Adjust Bureau with jeremy my & andy
a pity fz couldn't join us =|
pretty good movie! love the concept
caught a cab home and rested after that

met up with fellow DGDD peeps for KTV session!
broy, rini, clarence, peichuan, jiayi & daryl
I'm starting to be late for every meeting
it pisses myself off, and pisses others off too
argh, need to change that bad habit X_X
met up with them at 2.15pm when we're supposed to meet at 1.45pm
look at that amount of lateness =|

nevertheless, had a blast with them =)
left slightly earlier with broy, rini and clarence
as we had another meetup with wayne, ben & shunding for dinner
it was to celebrate rini's birthday
and yeah, super belated birthday lol xD

had Astons at Yew Tee
then proceeded to wayne's house for board games!
played Carcassonne!
didn't play the Expansion set, as it seems too much different
I love Carcassonne! I like the concept of the tiles
the map is never fixed =)

played another game, some sort of "Tower Defence" game
lost the game badly
our luck was really poor, I guess
wayne played that game thrice before, and won every time
while this time round, we lost pretty pathetically
we weren't even near winning LOL :lol:

cab home after that with rini & clarence
omg I cabbed twice within a week! X_X
didn't get any sleep after that, since I had duty on Sunday
so I stayed up all the way before heading for duty

it's a new week already
after this March, would be a big relief for me (because of army stuff)
and it'll be April already!

She was already buried in a mountain of papers and typing madly onto her computer, eyes feverish from the light of the screen that cast a sickly pallor upon her skin. Her lackluster hair hung limply from where she had tried to pull it back. She waved her husband off, ignoring his question.

He stood there somewhat awkwardly, papers crackling beneath his feet in the tiny, dark, run-down room. His dark eyes flitted from side to side. He removed his cracked spectacles and tried cleaning them with the hem of his dirty shirt then replaced them on his nose, as dirty as ever.

"Obituaries." She finally gasped, wasting precious breath. She ripped open a new packet of paper, ignoring the sheets that spilled out, and stuffed it into the overworked printer which was spouting out page after page. She had run out of black ink and had switched to pink.

"Um…" He gnawed on his bottom lip. "Okay. Well, we need to go see the doctor now. We have an appointment. And traffic. So much traffic." His eyes darted back to the printer where another finished document swooped into the air, teetered there for a second, and drifted down to ever-growing pile on the floor. "You sure bought a lot of paper. Must have been expensive. How are we going to pay for heat? It's going to get cold. So cold." He chuckled nervously when she didn't turn.

He stooped down to pick up a sheet and brought it close to his face to discern letters in the poor lighting. "David Matthew Howard." He read aloud. "Died at the age of 67 of a heart attack. Lawyer, father, and son. Loved by everyone." He stopped. "Who is this? Why are you writing this?" He picked up another and muttered the first few lines as well. "David Matthew Howard. Died at the age of 94. A man with a heart-of-gold, loved by everyone. Talented artist…" He trailed off. "We're going to be late. So late. Come on. The doctor."

She shook her head and grunted. "I'm not finished."

The printer spit out several more pages. David Matthew Howard. A mathematician on one, a pilot on another. Writer, teacher, hobo, engineer, professional athlete, actor-all dying at different ages of different causes yet miraculously loved by everyone.

"Honey. The doctor." The husband was getting frantic now. Sweat beaded on his nose and forehead. He fiddled with his dirty glasses. "We're going to be so late. Traffic. C'mon."

Her hands went limp against the keyboard and she turned. "He could have been someone great." Her hand trailed to her stomach, as flat as ever. "In this world the possibilities are endless."

He blinked, taking one last look at the onslaught of paper with sudden disgust. "The fetus can't be anything. Now the doctor. C'mon. So much traffic. And the heating bill. Ugh, so much paper."

The printer gave one last shudder, ejecting its last sheet, and went clumsily to sleep. "Maybe he could. But you won't give him a chance, will you."

a rather unique week it has been
for one, it's been a week of being ill, which is annoying -__-
the amazing combination of minor fever, cough, flu, sore throat, and headache
tried to kill me, but I'm too badass for them
LOL xD

so let's go through the week
Monday.
NS, + impromptu movie @ Vivo City
was contemplating whether to get MC or not
but I didn't want to miss out on training for running
since the event is on Friday
so ended up going for NS
didn't run very well though
cough kinda made me had difficulties breathing well

for the movie, watched No Strings Attached
with jeremy, fz, my, audrey and sy
pretty good movie
I wouldn't say it's awesome, though
coughing through the movie
really hate that, especially when I'm disrupting the silent audience

Tuesday.
took my MC @ Jurong Polyclinic
partly decided to take it 'cos I felt like sleeping
but hey, I was really sick too
I already went to NS on Monday despite being sick then
went to watch a movie, Just Go With It, in the evening
it was a better movie than No Strings Attached!
way funnier, loved the movie! :heart:
I love how they "bad-mouthing" each other in front of each other
and yet, they can't do anything about it

Wednesday.
went for training for running again
it was a relaxed 2.4km run only, though
to give us some recovery time till the event on Friday
was quite disappointed with myself though
with regards to the timing and my level of fatigue then

went for a Total Defence excursion in the noon
it was REALLY boring
because I went through EXACTLY the same thing back in BMT
so I was really just wasting my time chatting with campmates

went to repair jeremy's PSP in the evening
managed to get it repaired at a fairly good price
went home after that

Thursday.
went for NS, as usual
as normal as normal days would be
the only special part is, I'm actually staying in
excluding duties, that's a first
got my dinner at Jurong Point, @ Carl's Junior
and for that, that's another first
my first time dining at a Carl's Junior
yeah, I know, pretty "mountain-tortoise"
went to Arena's bar at night
had a few drinks, like really a few only
sang a few songs on their Karaoke
every table gets to pick their songs,
and the system will rotate 2 songs per table
I actually didn't want to sing, because of my sore throat
but you know, the alcohol did everything
hahahahaha

Friday.
got up early and prepared for the event
that's why I stayed in in the first place
went back to the camp I went during my BMT days
just so you know, I wasn't really part of the team for the run
it was a 4 + 1 reserve team, and we had 8 people
so yeah, I'm not that awesome enough to be in the team OTL
met one of my BMT mates there
such coincidence!
he was the first guy I talked to when I came to camp then
sadly, we didn't get into the same platoon

so for the event, we got 1st runner up!
so proud of them!
they were actually kind of disappointed for not getting Champion
mainly because last year, we actually got the Champion
so everyone had high hopes
but from the way I see it
this year's team did better than last year's team
so I'd say we've outdone ourselves already =)
for that, they are already Champions!

and for that night
I slept really early, as early as 8.30pm
LOL
I can't believe I actually made myself turn in that early
slept for a good 14 hours xD
well, I needed the rest =)

so yup, that's how my week went
and mind you, I was sick through the week
coughing everyday was a real pain
especially when I'm trying to get to sleep at night
I hope I can recover from this damned cough soon

so the long weekend has ended
and it's back to boring ol' NS
won't be having any public holidays until April, I think
for Good Friday
=(

so today I went for my annual eye checkup again
I actually don't have to go back already
but yeah, for health purposes might as well go back annually
ever since they told me I need not go back anymore
I actually feel kinda sad, I think
so from then on, I always look forward to the checkup LOL
:lol:

so today I was really late, but it was okay
as usual, waited for my name to be called
normally I would get a refraction test
and consultation of the optometrist
and that's about it
oh, a refraction test is that "read the letters" test
the one to test the clarity and stuffs
:la:

initially, I was scheduled to only go for consultation
and if everything is well, that would conclude the checkup
but during the consultation
the optometrist said she isn't satisfied with the results of my eyes
so had to go for the refraction test (as usual)

for the refraction test, they did it slightly different this time
they only blurred my left eye, and asked me to read
GOSH I COULDN'T SEE THE LETTERS
my right eye was given the lens to see clearly the letters
BUT MY FOCUS WAS ON THE LEFT EYE AND IT WAS A BLUR
was totally turning my head already, facing slightly to the left
so my right eye could actually see
it's easier if my left eye was blocked, man

after that, went back to the optometrist
she says it was all okay
oh by the way
every year when I go for checkup
the optometrists I consult (not always the same person) are often...
beautiful
is it just me? or is it my eyes? LOL
maybe "being pleasing to the eyes"
was part of the Optometrist requirement
k ignore my crapping back there
so anyway, the beautiful optometrist said everything was okay
degree of myopia is still the same,
so I can continue using my current glasses

and she said since I haven't checked the back of my eyes for years now,
she would do it today
and gave me a couple of eye drops to, I think, dilate my eyes
it "stung" my eye when the eye drops went in
and my instinctive reaction made me blurt out "Oh My God"
it was weird 'cos the optometrist told me "don't swear la"
unless "God" is a swear word, I guess she probably heard me wrongly
and because I was trying to keep my eyes open for the eye drops
my mouth was -retardedly- opened too
so probably mispronounced the word "God" and sounded like "Guard"
and which she probably misheard as the F word
lol :dummy:

so after all the checks and stuffs, everything was good
not sure if SAF is gonna pay for this checkup (woots!)
but the cashier said she'll send the bill to SAF
if it bounces back, then the bill will come back to me
hope SAF pays it for me =P hahahahaha

the eye drops had a lasting effect on my eyes
I was temporarily having 老花眼 (Presbyopia)
'cos stuffs that are about 10cm away from my eyes
I can't see clearly, unless I remove my glasses
lol so I was temporarily disabled like that for 4 hours

so that's it for my checkup
pretty boring, huh?
but because of my eye condition, it made me quite interested in Optometry
but oh well, I could never grasp the crazy scientific terms
not all of them, at least

Happy Lunar New Year!

1st day of CNY
woke up around 1pm
went over to my grandma's (maternal side) house
ate steamboat, like every other year
got hongbaos from grandparents (hurray!)

went to cousin's house afterwards
played and chilled there
didn't visit many other relatives that day
well, don't know if I've mentioned
but it's because of some family issues, which I would not elaborate
spent the night there as well
so yup, just like that, goes my first day

2nd day of CNY
went over to my other cousin's house for a while
got some stuffs to eat
was actually waiting to see my grandma (paternal side)
but before she arrived, I had to leave already
was meeting at fz house for some celebration

went home, bathed, left home again
met up with audrey first before heading for Clementi
met up with a couple of others over there first
jw, st, cheryl, wl, & chuanyuan
jw was driving! awesome~ =D
so the 7 of us squeezed into jw's car
gosh, there were 5 of us at the back hahaha
good thing we're all pretty slim =P

so gambled a lil at his house, ate some snacks
fz ordered pizzas, and his mum got us some satays
pretty much more gambling for the day
sums it up, lol

don't really have the cny mood this year
could be the age
could be the family issue
or could be just me
hope everyone else is having a better time than me~

this has been delayed for a while...
haven't really the mood to blog ^_^"

anyways
on 22nd Jan '11, I went cycling with campmates!
includes one of my ma'ams and other branches' people too
arranged to meet at 9.30am
but as usual, there are bound to have people being late
so almost everyone met around 10am at Tanah Merah Int
went over to Changi Village for breakfast (almost brunch already)
tried the Nasi Lemak there
I believe I'm ate from the more famous stall
it tasted rather average to me though ._.
I still miss the one that's near my house back then
that stall sold the best Nasi Lemak I've tasted~

getting back, after brunch, went to take the ferry over
it's been a long while since I last went to Pulau Ubin
can't remember was it for ATC (NPCC one) or CIP

so there we are, at the ferry point...

got our cycling bikes @ a relative cheap price of $6 (whole day)
that's for the normal standard bikes;
BK & Danial got theirs for $16, some more-suitable-for-stunt bikes
so we just cycled around Pulau Ubin
oh yeah, Lee Peng didn't know how to cycle then
so he took a double-bike with Faizal

for the first hour, unfortunately, Paul got into an accident
he kinda lost control of his bike at a downslope
and crashed into a tree =|
thank goodness it was just a flesh wound,
so we could continue cycling for the day =)

cycling route was really rocky and rough at some points
it was great to explore the island, though
a group photo...

this was taken after we tried the ultimately-awesome-roller-coaster-trail
everyone was pretty worn out from that
I swear, that was a really challenging trail! :dummy:
it's all uphill, and then downhill, really like a roller coaster
and it ends with a relatively steep downslope
I almost lost control and fell back there ^_^"

pretty went back to the ferry point after that
it was a long cycle around the island;
we were there from 12pm all the way till 6pm
everyone was expecting to get the butt-aches that night/the next day
(which fortunately, I did not get the ache :lol:)

before we left the island...

went for dinner afterwards at Supper Club
not the night club, mind you
which after that, headed home
long ride on the MRT, caught some shuteye

so that's pretty much it =)
enjoyed the day much!
would really want to go cycling there again =D

it's new year already
it seems so fast, yet so slow
well, probably 'cos now I'm in army, I just can't wait for 2012 xD

so my new year was spent night skating with pals :lol:
witnessed a small fireworks in Boon Lay
probably (and definitely) not as magnificent as Marina Bay's one,
but still, it was amazing

skated to Yuan Ching that side, where there's this big playground
hanged out there for a while, before going for supper
by the time I skated home it was already 4am
cool night out :aww:

so on New Year itself, I went to jeremy's house
to celebrate the twins' birthdays, as well as their mum's
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEREMY, JEROME, AND YOUR MUM!
BBQ food was awesome
wanted to try the macaroni but in the end didn't =|

another drinking night
played Saboteur and Bomb cards
this night I "merlion-ed" -__-
but I think it's better than getting a hangover

it's always fun to chill with friends =D
good start for a new year, I'll say

it's been a while since I had a REAL post
and as always, I bet it's gonna be a really long one =|
I'll try to keep it short ^_^"

for Christmas eve, it's half-day for me in camp
and to celebrate Christmas, we had some games-event-thingie
something like an "Amazing Race" kind
was pretty fun, except for the fact
that I twisted my ankle while moving to the third game
once again, utterly disappointed in my carelessness ._.

one of my superiors then used some ointment
and starting "massaging" my ankle
and holy, it's an experience I wouldn't want again
I can feel myself getting old from all those frowning!
my campmates were saying
they can feel the pain from looking at my facial expression LOL
it was damn painful!

quite a gift for Christmas, huh?
but kinda glad how much concern I got from that twisted ankle =)
not that I'm an attention seeker D:

shall skip a lil
I was already able to walk, so I went home after that
was going to meet up with jeremy and company for our Christmas dinner
dinner started really late
and once again, lots of leftover -__-
I guess for next year, we can really just order 2kg of pork ribs LOL :dummy:

played a few card games
and the BOMB card game made me drink a lot -__-
I was literally losing every round
was sooooo drunk until I can feel my heartbeat at my ears!
and I can feel my face burning; it was damn red D:

knocked out after drinking too much; didn't vomit though
slept at jeremy's house
obviously had hangover when I woke up(and it sucks >:( )

but small company's good too; everyone's involved
had dinner at some Italian restaurant at Clarke Quay
I think it was around Liang Court? didn't really take note
I can't even remember the restaurant's name,
mainly because it's not exactly English

it was a family-kind of restaurant though
not those really high class one
you could get a good meal at around $7-8
dinner was awesome; a really good place for a cheapo like me LOL
I mean, it's really very affordable
and the environment is very pleasant too

went to this Yello Jello bar afterwards
I didn't get anything, while the rest got a glass of beer/cocktail
then just chill and chit chat
and it's really this kind of times which I enjoy a lot =)
love the great company

so that's pretty much my Christmas for this year, 2010
cut down on lots of details
have to really get used to cutting down unnecessary details -__-
and hell, it's still so long! OTL

DISCLAIMER
omg long post again D:

had a very fun day on Saturday!
went out early morning with army mates
went to east coast to cycle/skate
destination was Changi
4 of us rented roller blades at first
but it was too hard to keep up with the cyclists
so in the end, I'm the only one left with blades ._.
luckily for us, when we were skating back
dark clouds started to swarm the skies
and it only rained when we were near the rental shop
was slightly drenched, but oh well
and I swear, blading for 3hrs is no joke
I bladed until I can feel the muscle tension in my thighs -__-
but consider it an achievement too!
I managed to keep up with the cyclists :aww:
I'm so taking bicycle next time LOL

lunched with them after that
wanted to eat at the Bedok hawker centre
but they couldn't find seats
so went to some Teh Tarik coffeeshop and ate there
didn't really like the food
think my sore throat and flu isn't giving me a good appetite

met up with cheryl and fz after that
went to catch the movie Rapunzel at Cineleisure
the movie was awesome!
love the movie lots :heart:
I forgot the original story of Rapunzel already though!
used to read it, a few times over too

after that, proceeded to city hall to meet st & yl
fz still played a round of Jubeat first -.- we were already late!
wanted to dine at Skinny Pizza
but was there really late (about 9.35pm)
and their last order was already over
ended up dining at Osaka Town
our order was the last order already

quite surprised they don't have a typical chicken-set-meal
that would normally be the default for me
ended up ordering a "premium" set meal
which is a Half Seafood Okos + Chicken Cutlet Rice Set
wasn't really interested in the Seafood Okos though
had Gyoza too; shared with the rest

had a bad experience though
my food came, and as I shifted my tray of food,
the soup bowl overturned and spilled onto my legs
the soup was piping hot then
I could imagine my facial expression
at first I was like "oh fuck", then the heat comes along
and I was all "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" inside
scalded till part of my left thigh actually went numb for a moment
soup wasted, pants, socks and shoes soiled
wasn't really pissed off
more of really disappointed for being so careless
went to the toilet to clean myself up a lil bit

came back and ate my food
didn't really finish it though
think because of my sore throat and flu
kinda affected my appetite
and not to mention the spilling of the soup
totally killed it

so that was Saturday
for Sunday, I went to my cousin's baby's first month celebration
that's her second baby already
buffet, as usual
chatting with cousins; never fail to crack me up =)
played with my cousin's eldest daughter
she's damn cute!! love her so much HAHA

she makes me want to have my own daughter LOL xD
but oh well, that day is still a long, long way away~

think my sickness is causing me to have a poor appetite recently
didn't really eat a lot these few days
hope friends and family are not sick like me now
take care of yourself people!
